TTS Fall 2022 In-person Kick-Off Meeting

The TTS research team hosted the first in-person kick-off meeting on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, in the library of Neabsco elementary school. In the meeting, our national infographic expert Cynthia Graville. Cynthia led multiple activities to help the participants to better understand the teaching and learning of science using infographics.

TTS Fall 2022 Infographic Online Workshops

The TTS research team hosted three online infographic workshops for teacher to learn details regarding design knowledge, how to help students find infographic topics, how to evaluate infographics. During the workshops, teachers also have opportunities to discuss with the infographic expert about their questions and concerns.

TTS Spring 2023 Kick-off Meeting

For the Spring 2023 semester, the TTS research team hosted an informal online kick-off meeting on Monday, January 30th, from 3 to 4 pm (EST). All TTS teacher participants, the PWCS coordinator, and the Neabsco school principal attended the meeting. In the meeting, our teacher participants discussed their insights and reflections from the previous Fall 2022 semester. They also shared students’ infographic work. With support from the school principal, teachers also developed a plan for implementing infographic teaching in the Spring 2023 semester.

TTS Spring 2023 End-of-Semester Community Event

On June 14, 2023, the TTS research team, alongside two 5th-grade teachers from Neabsco Elementary School, Ms. Speights and Ms. Wang, organized an engaging community event. This event provided students with the opportunity to showcase their final infographics and share their science experiments with the school community.
